My name is Katie Palladino and I live in the Quad Cities of IA/IL along with my husband and my amazing baby girl. We moved here in 2008 so my husband could attend Palmer College of Chiropractic. We have been married since 2006 and our little addition joined us in August of 2010. I started cloth diapering her when she was 2 weeks old, but only when we were home. During that time, I cringed every time I had to buy another box of disposables, so around three months I started transitioning to putting her in cloth all the time and have LOVED it!

While I was pregnant, I knew I wanted to at least give cloth diapering a try. I was only interested because I knew it would save us a lot of money. So I started researching and was excited to find that modern cloth diapering was not only so much easier and cuter than the pins and plastic pants I had envisioned, there were so many benefits for my baby’s bum and the environment also. All the options were sooo overwhelming though. I spent HOURS DAYS researching all the different types and styles; contacting anyone I knew who was cloth diapering to get their advice about their experiences. And since we don’t have any stores in our area that sell them, when I had finally decided on one I wanted to try I would have to order one online and then wait for it to arrive and then decide whether I liked it or not and then order more or start all over again! What a horrible process! No wonder more parents don’t cloth diaper!

When I came across Diaper Parties I knew becoming a consultant was perfect for me. I would have the opportunity to make the process so much easier for other parents. Also, I had quit working to stay at home with our little girl and I had been looking for something I could do to continue to help us out. Diaper Parties gave me an opportunity to spread the word about something I love and get paid to do it!
