Diaper Parties

When my husband and I decided we were ready to start a family, it turned out nature had a different plan. During our wait to conceive, I immersed myself in all things baby related. While reading a parenting magazine one day, I came across an ad for cloth diapers. I was taken aback – they looked nothing like the cloth diapers I had seen. These were all one piece, like a disposable. They fastened with Velcro or snaps, came in adorable colors and prints, and could fit one child from birth through potty training. I began researching every aspect of cloth diapering, and the more I found out, the more I was convinced this was an easy choice, one that was better for my baby, the environment, and our budget! My husband was won over when I told him it would save us thousands of dollars.

There was no store in the area that sold cloth diapers, so my only option for building my stash was to shop online. I combed through reviews for hours and hours, found the best detergents to use, and discovered tips on everything from camping with cloth to what insert works best for a heavy wetter. It would have been such a timesaver to have been able to see the diapers in person and to get advice from a cloth diapering expert. I’m so excited to be able to help parents and parents-to-be in Oklahoma find a cloth diapering option that works for them!

Born and raised on the West Coast, I have a B.A. from the University of Oklahoma with a focus in American Sign Language. I spend my time swimming, reading, and creating things. Our daughter is due at the beginning of March.
