I am a mommy to three amazing kiddos under the age of five and we live in the Gunnison/Crested Butte area. I am a Stay At Home Mommy while running a successful timber framing/log home construction company with my awesome husband. In addition to being a senior representative for Diaper Parties through Everything Birth, I am a birth doula, currently certifying with CAPPA and DONA, as well as a certified Hypnobabies® Childbirth Hypnosis instructor and certified Hypno-Doula. I teach childbirth hypnosis within a complete childbirth education class, support mommas and their birth partners at their birthing time, and share my passion for natural living with anyone who wants to listen.

My two youngest children were wonderfully successful and very healing VBACs that began to grow and shape my passion for all things pregnancy and birth related. My middle kiddo was welcomed into the world with the help of a fantastic doula, and my littlest one was an amazing Hypno-baby. Both experiences, accompanied by my first child’s difficult labor and delivery, led me down this path of wanting to provide others what my doula provided to me and share the Hypnobabies® program with the world.

I jumped on the cloth diapering bandwagon a bit late in the game. I attempted cloth diapering with the birth of my son, five years ago. I was overwhelmed, uneducated and misinformed. It was a miserable, yucky experience for me and I quickly gave in to disposables. One year later, we welcomed our middle daughter and I never gave cloth a second thought. I didn’t know anyone who was using fluff and it never entered my mind as an option.

Then my last, littlest, bundle of joy entered the family. We still used disposables, but I was becoming more and more aware of other kiddo’s fluffy bottoms. People that I initially wouldn’t think would be “cloth diaper-ers” were cloth diapering! It was as if the cloth diaper world suddenly exploded and it started appearing everywhere I looked.

Then, with the creation of my childbirth business, I wanted to provide a workshop for parents and expecting parents about the wonders of the cloth diaper movement. I emailed companies, requesting a diaper donation, so that I could have samples to show during my classes. I felt like I was doing a great job of preparing, but I wasn’t the one to teach it, so I went looking for friends who seemed educated and informed about what was out there on the market. About that time, a friend of mine told me that she became a representative for Diaper Parties and I knew we were on to something!

Once we began preparing for these workshops, I discovered the love of cloth diapers! My littlest was 100% cloth diapered on her first birthday… it only took me five years to get there! I’ll never look back, have used disposable twice since that day, and am longing for a fourth babe to enter our family to share in the fluff hand-me-downs. But I know that, even if this is our last child, the cost savings will have been totally worth it, and the money that I will make back by selling my gently used diapers will make my investment even more solid! My middle kiddo was switched to cloth trainers at night and I love, love, love never having to think of diapers or pull-ups ever again while I am at the store!

Providing support, encouragement and education to women and their families during pregnancy, childbirth and beyond is my ultimate goal within the birthing world. I have a passion for cloth diapering, extended breastfeeding, attachment parenting as well as baby wearing and I am working towards showing my community and surrounding areas that these beliefs and actions can fit wonderfully into mainstream America.
