About
Hello, my name is Laelle. I am Mom to one little boy, Ari, who is currently 19 months old (born Sept. 2009). I knew for many years before becoming pregnant that someday I would use cloth diapers with my children, but didn't really know much more than that. As a family chiropractor, I had been recommending cloth diapers to the families in my practice for mostly health reasons. I know how important it is for our precious little ones to avoid contact with as many toxic chemicals as possible - and disposable diapers are full of them! I always loved reading through the issues of Mothering and Pathways magazines we had for our practice members, so I assumed I had a pretty good idea about what was out there and that it wouldn't be too challenging for me to decide on what diapers to get before my son was born.
It wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. I ended up paying to attend a cloth diapering class so I could see and feel different types of diapers. I went into our local cloth diapering store several times and talked with the knowledgeable employees. I spent hours browsing online and reading reviews. Even then, I wasn't completely clear on the difference between all the different types of options available. I wished I had someone I could call with all of my questions who would answer them for me over the phone, by email or get together with me in person to help me out. So when I found out about Diaper Parties from a friend of mine, I was really excited and couldn't wait to join the team of Mommas helping to spread the word about cloth.
Besides cloth diapering, I am passionate about natural health and chiropractic, babywearing, breastfeeding, green living, and healthy, home cooked eating. I love exploring and learning about ways to keep me and my family as healthy and happy as possible. I am currently on extended maternity leave from my chiropractic center to be a full time stay at home Mom. It has been such an incredible experience to be home with my little man for the last year and a half! Cloth diapering has been an integral part of it. Besides knowing that I'm doing what I know is best for my son's health and for the health of our planet...I just think that cloth diapers are so much cuter and more comfortable than disposables :-) . And if that isn't enough, we saved lots of money going with cloth in a time where our budget really needed it!
If you are interested in seeing what cloth has to offer your little one, contact me for a private consultation or host a cloth diaper party with your friends!
