Hello! My name is Nikki. I am Mom to the two best little boys in the world. Kristjan (3) is my fireball and the reason I got into cloth diapering. He had a rash from everything it seemed, and diapers were no different. There wasn't a cream, lotion or powder out there that could heal him. I started looking into cloth and decided it was an excellent option for his little tushie. Once getting into it and realizing all the benefits to the environment as well as my little guy, I couldn't believe it had taken me so long to switch (3 months). Looking at the costs was enough of a reason to switch, but I quickly realized here were so many other reasons as well. I thought about why I hadn't looked into cloth earlier and I realized there were no other Moms around me that did. There weren't stores promoting cloth, there weren't ads around town. There wasn't a support system. As new parents, we all look for others around us for support. To hear we are doing a good job, to receive advice, and just to talk. The cloth diapering community needs more support and more of a voice. Which is why I am excited to be getting into Diaper Parties.

My oldest potty trained at just 18 months. I was sad to put away the diapers. When we were expecting boy number two (Zachariah, 5 months), I found myself excited to get those diapers out again, and to go shopping for more! There are so many baby items we look for and collect in preparation of baby, and diapers were no different for me. I am dreading the day my youngest potty trains, but at least now I can inform others out there about the many benefits of cloth. It will be my way of keeping it around :-)
